Head Soccer Coach

Coaching   

·         Built NCAA Division I soccer program from it’s inception to a #13 National ranking out of 277 programs (accomplished this in only four recruiting classes)

·         Lead team to 2nd round of 2000 NCAA Tournament and National Rankings in all 5 polls. Finished season 14-7-1

·         Defeated numerous top-25 teams; including 2000 National Runner-up UCLA

·         Coached Pac-10 Freshman-of-the-Year, Pac-10 Player-of-the-Year, several All Pac-10, All-Region and All-American players

·         Coached National-Player-of-the-Year Finalist in 1999

·         Coached Conference Scoring Champion 2 out of 4 years in the Pac-10

·         Two student-athletes participated with U.S. Women’s National Team

·         Three student-athletes participated with U.S. U-21 National Team

·         Two student-athletes selected for Senior College All-Star game

·         Four athletes invited to WUSA (professional) combine; 3 played in the WUSA

·         Two athletes chosen in WUSA Draft - including the 5th overall pick

Recruiting

·         Signed National Top 10 recruiting class for 2001, #12 class for 2000, and #22 class for 1998.  Regional #10 for 1999

·         Youth National Team players from Calif, Ohio, Michigan, Texas, Virginia, Wash  

·         State Players-of-the-Year from Arizona (4), Illinois (2), Washington (2), Minnesota

·         Several Adidas ESP - Top 150 players in the Nation

Academics

·         22 student-athletes named to All Pac-10 Academic Teams; 1 NSCAA All-Region

·         100% retention of starters and significant reserves

·         100% student-athlete academic eligibility

Administration

·         Rated one of top 5 ASU coaches in peer review by senior administration

·         Offered first multi-year contract at ASU to an Olympic sport coach
